Common Plumbing Problems and How to Fix Them

1. The Leaky Faucet – A leaky faucet is usually caused by a worn-out washer. To fix this, you will need to buy a new washer and replace it

2. A Clogged Drain – A clogged drain is usually caused by hair and soap buildup. To fix this, you’ll need to remove the clog. The two most common and cost-effective solutions are a drain snake or some form of liquid clog remover.

3. The Clogged Toilet – This is probably the most concerning problem among the five. The easiest way to fix a clogged toilet requires a plunger and a strong stomach. Put single-use towels around the toilet to avoid spillage, and get to work. If you don’t have a plunger, you can use chemical solutions similar to what you would use for a clogged drain.

4. No More Hot Water – When a water heater isn’t working, it’s usually because the pilot light is  out, or the heating element needs replaced. To check the pilot light, watch this video for a quick fix: How to find and fix your pilot light. On the other hand, if you need to have your element replaced, give us a call. We will get it fixed ASAP.

5. A Leaking Pipe – Leaking usually means cracking in the pipe. This usually happens in the fittings, because pressure, temperature difference, and time can make connection points loose.. To fix this, shut off the water at the shut-off valve, replace the pipe, replace the fittings, and seal the connection points.

If this last one seems over your head, give us a call. We’re available 24/7 and you’ll be able to relax knowing the job is done right.
